COACH OF THE YEAR - Ruth Lovelace (Boys & Girls)For the third straight year, Lovelace guided the Kangaroos to the Public Schools Athletic League Class AA title. She later led the team to the New York State Federation title, after coming up short the previous two years. Working with a team full of transfers, Lovelace easily integrated them into the lineup and the Kangaroos maintained their sport atop the PSAL. Boys High has become the new powerhouse in the league.

MVP Against Christ the King early this season, Leroy Fludd had a monster game and proclaimed that he wanted to be considered among the best players in the City. Now, there's no doubt. Fludd was the MVP of the PSAL AA title game and the State Federation title game, providing the big plays his team needed down the stretch. Fludd averaged 21.1 points and 13.3 rebounds in league play and has offers from programs such as Providence and Xavier.

ROOKIE OF THE YEARIt's not easy to come in and have an effect on the varsity scene in the PSAL but Lenny Kadisha started each game this season for Wadleigh as he helped them to the Manhattan AA division title as well as the Manhattan borough tournament championship. Cadija averaged 10 points and 11 rebounds per game and those numbers only figure to improve. The wing has a very bright future ahead of him.

GUARD Christ the King's Omar Calhoun has been selected to the All-City team in back-to-back years after another fine campaign that saw him become the all-time leading scorer at the school. The senior averaged 25.7 points, eight rebounds and three assists per game. He is the best pure scorer in New York City and can drive the line with ease, as well as hitting the mid-range jumper. The Connecticut-bound guard recently was the Player of the Game in the All-American Championship.

GUARD When Thaddeus Hall returned to the team about midway through the season after academic issues, Jefferson proved to be almost unstoppable, losing to only nationally ranked St. Anthony (N.J.) and Boys & Girls in the PSAL title game. The senior had a fantastic postseason, averaging 25.3 points and 8.5 rebounds per game, and he guided Jefferson to the Brooklyn borough tournament title. He has offers from schools like St. John's, Maryland and TCU.

GUARD While Hall was not able to play, someone had to step for the Orange Wave and that proved to be Jaquan "Son Son" Lynch. The junior helped Jefferson get the season off on the right foot, which would be instrumental in Jefferson reaching the heights it did this season. Lynch finished the season averaging 20.6 points, 4.8 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game and filled a perfectly complementary role to Hall once when he returned. It will be his team to lead next year.

FORWARD No forward in New York City had a better season than Daniel Dingle. The senior averaged 18 points, 12 rebounds and five assists while shooting 56 percent from the field. He was one of the biggest forces in New York City working inside the paint. He guided the Ravens to the Archdiocesan tournament and Class AA Intersectional tournament titles, the first tie the Ravens accomplished both feats in Dingle's four years. Dingle will play for Temple.

CENTERAmadou Sidibe continued his development and turned into the best center in the CHSAA by averaging 16 points, 12 rebounds and two blocks per game. The center developed a better offensive game this season and worked more on his defense, becoming a shot-blocking menace in the middle for the Cardinals. Without Sidibe, Hayes would not have finished first in the Archdiocesan league and make the semifinals of the CHSAA Class AA Intersectional tournament. He is headed to Fairfield.
