That's the million-dollar question as the Rangers prepare to host the Washington Capitals on Sunday at Madison Square Garden.
Because of the early 6 p.m. start time, the Rangers had no skate, making it difficult to gauge whether Rick Nash will be in the lineup in Sunday's rematch of the 2012 Eastern Conference semifinals.
Nash did not practice Saturday -- according to the Rangers it was a "maintenance day" -- and the star winger also missed a season ticket-holder event Friday due to an "illness."
Further evidence to his potential absence?
After sending down Chris Kreider to the AHL on Friday, the Rangers recalled the 22-year-old winger on Saturday, presumably as insurance if Nash can't play.
What's wrong with Nash?
That much remains unclear, although there has been speculation that whatever is ailing him might be related to a nasty hit suffered in Tuesday's game against the Bruins. Nash's head smacked the boards after being shouldered by Milan Lucic. He did not miss time in that game, however. Nash also played against the Islanders on Thursday.
We should know more about his status soon. Coach John Tortorella will address the media at 4:45 p.m.
