Injured Rangers defenseman Marc Staal skated on his own Tuesday before practice, the team announced.

Staal, who has not played since being struck in the eye with a puck March 5, is expected to address the media later Tuesday afternoon.

Staal has not spoken publicly since sustaining the gruesome injury, which prompted both his brothers, Carolina Hurricanes forwards Eric Staal and Jordan Staal, to begin wearing visors.

It is not immediately clear when he will return to the lineup. The Rangers have provided no timeline for the injury.
