The Rangers have agreed to a contract extension with forward Chad Kolarik, the team announced Friday. The Rangers acquired Kolarik in a trade with the Columbus Blue Jackets on Nov. 11, 2010.
Kolarik played four games with the Rangers last season, while spending the majority of the year with the Connecticut Whale and the Springfield Falcons in the American Hockey League (AHL). In the four games with the Rangers, Kolarik tallied the first assist of his career on Jan. 20 at Carolina.
In the AHL, Kolarik, 25, scored 21 goals and added 20 assists. In his time with the Whale, the Rangers AHL affiliate, Kolarik was second in goals and fifth in assists.
For his career, Kolarik has scored 67 goals and added 74 assists in 201 AHL games and has played in six NHL games.
