New York Rangers forward Mats Zuccarello and his family are OK following the shootings and bombing in Oslo, Norway, according to a team spokesperson. Zuccarello, who made his debut with the Rangers this past season, is a native of Oslo.
On Friday, a bombing damaged a government building in Oslo and killed at least seven people and at least 86 people were killed in a shooting at a summer youth camp, according to ABC News. Police have identified a suspect in the killings, according to ABC News.
The Rangers signed Zuccarello on May 26, 2010 after Zuccarello starred in the Swedish Elite League. In 42 games with the Rangers this past season, Zuccarello scored six goals and added 17 assists. He tied for the team-lead with nine power play assists on the year.
