Brad Richards said he plans to skate tomorrow, despite missing today's session with a sore groin.

Richards did not skate today after he tweaked his groin during the second period of Tuesday's scrimmage. He felt it was "prudent" to take precaution, but was unsure if he'll be available for Friday's game against New Jersey.

"If it's not quite right, I'm not going to push it right now," Richards said.

The 31-year-old center, signed this July to a nine-year $60 million deal, said he has experienced groin issues in the past during the start of training camp.

"This time of year it's always a battle to stay on top of it," he said. "it's nothing alarming, that's for sure."
