Michael Sauer (shoulder) will not play Saturday against the New York Islanders, coach John Tortorella said.

Sauer, who suffered a sprained right shoulder in the preseason, has not practiced with the team since returning from Europe.

"I wouldn't say it's long-term, " Tortorella said. "He won't play tomorrow and we'll go from there."

Tortorella said he still plans on bringing Sauer on the team's four-game trip to Western Canada.

LW Wojtek Wolski (groin) returned to practice Friday, but Tortorella wasn't sure if he'd be in the lineup Saturday.
