The same team that ended the Devils’ 2009-10 campaign will open the preseason slate, as New Jersey heads down I-95 to face the Philadelphia Flyers.

Veteran goalie Martin Brodeur will sit out -- as he usually doesn’t suit up for road games in the preseason -- but one player to watch for could be teenage center Jacob Josefson, whose short-handed goal in Monday’s scrimmage continued his string of strong training camp impressions. Head coach John MacLean wouldn’t confirm the prospect will make the trip to Philly, however.

Josefson is the name du jour, as the Devils' team site has more, as does Tom Gulitti, who quotes the youngster as saying it was “a great feeling” to score on Brodeur.

The Newark Star-Ledger also writes on Josefson, with MacLean noting yesterday’s scrimmage brought the prospect a step closer to the Devils’ roster.
