Wolski to undergo surgery, miss 4 weeks

Rangers forward Wojtek Wolski will undergo sports hernia surgery Tuesday, the team announced. He is expected to miss four weeks.

Wolski, who missed six games this season with a groin strain, met with specialist Dr. William Meyers Monday after undergoing an MRI this past weekend; Meyers will perform the surgery at Core Performance Physicians in Philadelphia.

The 25-year-old winger has two assists in six games this season and was, at one point, the leading candidate to play on the left wing with center Brad Richards and right wing Marian Gaborik.
