No surprise here.

The Islanders have place goaltender Rick DiPietro on injured reserve with a left groin strain, retroactive to December 3.

The oft-injured netminder suffered the injury in the Islanders' 5-4 win over Dallas December 3 and has not played since.

The 30-year-old, who has been hampered with a variety of ailments again this season, is 3-2-3, with an .876 save percentage and 3.73 goals against average.

Al Montoya and Evgeni Nabokov will tend the net for the Islanders, who have carried three goaltenders all season.
