UPDATE: The Devils have assigned center Jacob Josefson to Albany as well.

Devils center Tim Sestito cleared waivers Tuesday at noon and, according to the team, will be assigned to the Albany Devils of the American Hockey League.

Sestito failed to make his way onto the scoresheet in his 18 games with the Devils this season, but seemed to make a good impression on coach Pete DeBoer, who recently praised his defensive play and used him to center the third line.

The Devils have two centers that will be returning soon, however.

Travis Zajac, who has been hampered with sore Achilles, is expected to play on the team's three-game road trip out West. Jacob Josefson is also nearing his return after missing almost three months with a broken clavicle.
