To accomodate newly-acquired LW Alexei Ponikarovsky, who was acquired via trade with Carolina Friday night, the Devils have sent Mattias Tedenby to Albany (AHL).

Tedenby was a healthy scratch in the Devils' 4-1 loss to Boston Thursday. The 21-year-old Swedish winger has been limited to one goal and five assists in 43 games this season.

The Hurricanes shipped Ponikarovsky to the Devils in exchange for a fourth-round draft pick in 2012 and defenseman Joe Sova. The 31-year-old winger has seven goals and eight assists in 48 games for Carolina this season.
