Ruslan Fedotenko practiced with the team Thursday but remains questionable for Friday's match against the Islanders.
Coach John Tortorella said he was not sure about Fedotenko's status but expects to know more by Thursday afternoon or Friday morning.
The 33-year-old winger has not played since suffering an undisclosed injury (assumed to be a concussion) after a fine-worthy hit from Dominic Moore February 9.

Tortorella disputed the notion that his Eastern Conference-leading squad is dragging, saying that he thinks the team-is-tired excuse is, "a bunch of [BS]."
The team dropped two of its last three games, including a 2-0 shutout loss to Pittsburgh Tuesday.
"It's very important at this time of year for the mindset to be there," he said.

Sounds like Henrik Lundqvist's Rock of Dreams charity event Thursday was a hit. The goaltender manned the guitar on stage with tennis legend John McEnroe and other members of his band, the Noise Upstairs.
Approximately $60,000 was raised as 475 people packed Tribeca's Canal Room for the performance, which included a diverse set list including hits from the Foo Fighters and Guns' N' Roses.
"We had a great time," Lundqvist said. "That was the goal, to have a fun time and raise some money."
