After spending the past two games on the fourth line -- a demotion reflective of his miscues in Game 4 --rookie Chris Kreider has found his way back to the team's second line, apparently.

The 21-year-old winger practiced on a line with center Derek Stepan and captain Ryan Callahan Friday. The combination was also a promotion for Stepan, who has toiled as the third-line center of late.

The move seems to indicate the team's dire need for offense heading into Saturday's Game 7 against the Capitals.

The rest of the lines from practice:

Hagelin-Richards-Gaborik
Kreider-Stepan-Callahan
Anisimov-Boyle-Prust
Fedotenko-Mitchell- Rupp

Extras (John Scott, Mats Zuccarello).
