MacLean: "The puck is going to go in"

The Devils continue to regroup as they wait for Thursday’s game against the Montreal Canadiens. While the team’s offense continues to sputter (just 10 goals to date), head coach John MacLean believes the Devs will light the lamp if his team keeps getting chances.

As Tom Gulitti of the Bergen Record writes:

“As far as scoring chances, we are getting some quality chances,” MacLean said after today’s practice. “We are definitely getting quality chances and I’m confident with this group if we keep getting those chances, the puck is going to go in.”

That echoes the sentiments of GM Lou Lamoriello, who believes the team’s record would be flipped if they had capitalized on all the opportunities they’ve been given to date.

To help promote that capitalization, MacLean assembled some new lines. Here’s how things looked at Tuesday’s practice after the demotion of D Alex Urbom.

Forwards: Zach Parise-Travis Zajac-Dainius Zubrus; Patrik Elias-Jacob Josefson-Ilya Kovalchuk; Rod Pelley-Jason Arnott-Jamie Langenbrunner; Adam Mair-Tim Sestito-David Clarkson
