The Devils may not want to see any blue in the stands in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference finals on Saturday afternoon, but there will be at least 80 Rangers fans in attendance -- and they’ll be arriving at the Prudential Center in style.
Delta Air Lines -- the Rangers’ official airline -- will fly more than 80 Rangers fans, customers and children and families from the Garden of Dreams from LaGuardia to Newark Liberty International Airport, then proceed to the arena for the game. The time of the flight is 17 minutes.
According to a press release, former Rangers Rod Gilbert and Ron Duguay will join Rangers fans, Delta pilots, flight attendants and customers to unveil the aircraft, which has been branded with the Rangers logo. Fans on board will be given Rangers rally towels, T-shirts and other giveaways.
The Devils kick-started a “No Blue” campaign on their official website this week to keep Rangers fans out of the Rock for Games 3, 4 and, if necessary, 6, but later took it down.
Devils captain Zach Parise hopes the stands are filled with Devils fans.
“Hopefully, there won't be too many blue jerseys in the stands for this home game,” Parise said.
