Kreider is "fine", avoids serious injury
By Katie Strang
New York Rangers forward Chris Kreider, currently playing for the AHL's Connecticut Whale during the lockout, avoided a serious head injury after crashing into the boards face-first during Sunday's game against Springfield.
A source told ESPNNewYork.com that the 21-year-old winger is "fine" and is believed to be day-to-day with a neck strain.
Kreider, one of the breakout stars of the 2012 NHL playoffs, has four goals and six assists in 19 games for the Whale this season.
