Flyers' Schenn suspended one game
By Katie Strang
Philadelphia's Brayden Schenn earned a one-game suspension for his charging hit on Devils defenseman Anton Volchenkov in the Devils' 3-0 win against the Flyers in Newark on Tuesday night.
No penalty was assessed after Schenn's hit but the league reviewed the play regardless. NHL VP of Player Safety Brendan Shanahan announced the decision Wednesday, his first disciplinary decision of the lockout-shortened season.
Schenn will sit out Thursday's game against the Rangers in Philadelphia.
