The Devils sent center Jacob Josefson down to the American Hockey League and recalled Andrei Loktionov, the team announced.

Josefson has been limited to a mere point (an assist) in 15 games this season, prompting the Devils to reassign him to Albany in hopes that he regains his confidence in the minors.

Now they'll get a look at Loktionov, acquired from the Kings earlier this month. He was recalled last week but then sent down to accommodate Alexei Ponikarovsky's arrival.

Loktionov, 22, has seven goals and 15 assists in 37 games for the AHL's Manchester Monarchs this season.

The Devils have sent center Andrei Loktionov back to Albany, the team's AHL affiliate.

Devils general manager Lou Lamoriello said there would be a corresponding move to accommodate the arrival of Alexei Ponikarovsky, re-acquired by the team in a trade Wednesday evening, and this appears to be it.

Ponikarovsky, who was acquired in a trade with the Jets for two draft picks, is expected to be available for the Devils' game against the Flyers on Friday.

The Devils have placed left wing Dainius Zubrus on injured reserve, the team announced Wednesday morning.

Zubrus sat out his fourth straight game Tuesday night with an upper-body injury, the severity of which remains unknown. The 34-year-old forward suffered the injury in last Tuesday's game against the Rangers.

Devils GM Lou Lamoriello told reporters Wednesday that the team should know more about the nature of the injury within the next 48 hours.

In the meantime, the team has recalled recently-acquired center Andrei Loktionov from Albany, New Jersey's AHL affiliate.

The 22-year-old Loktionov, acquired in a trade with the Los Angeles Kings last week, has appeared in two games for the Albany Devils this season. He had seven goals and 15 assists in 37 games for the Manchester Monarchs before being shipped to the Devils for a fifth-round draft pick.
