Brace yourselves, hockey fans. You may be in for a long winter.
As the clock struck 12:01 a.m. Sunday morning, the NHL imposed a league-wide lockout, the sport's second work stoppage in eight years and the third of commissioner Gary Bettman's tenure.
And with no formal discussions scheduled and the two sides staring down a stark philosophical divide, it may be a long time until we see the puck drop.
