A quick update on free agency:
1. Looking for a No. 2 quarterback, the Jets will visit Friday with Brady Quinn, a source confirmed. The Broncos' third stringer watched from the sideline last season as the Tim Tebow phenomenon unfolded. The former Notre Dame star, a first-round pick of the Browns in 2007, never has lived up to expectations. He has a career mark of 3-9 as a starter, with a passer rating of 66.8. The visit was first reported by the Denver Post.
2. The safety-thin Jets also arranged a visit with Reggie Nelson (Bengals), a source said. He's due to arrive Friday. They lost one option at safety, when Brandon Meriweather signed a two-year deal Thursday with the Redskins. He was scheduled to visit the Jets, but he never made the trip. Nelson and LaRon Landry (Redskins) remain possibilities in a quickly deteriorating safety market.
