It's amazing how fast things change in the NFL. On Monday, the Jets were on the periphery of the Tim Tebow trade talks, taking a wait-and-see attitude, from what I was told.
On Tuesday, their interest had intensified, as we reported here.
On Wednesday, well, the Jets are firmly in the Tebow sweepstakes. They definitely want him. Why, you ask? They want to crank up the running game under new coordinator Tony Sparano, and they believe Tebow would add a new dimension in the Wildcat.
This shouldn't be a long process. Don't be surprised if the Broncos deal Tebow by the end of the day. The Jaguars and Packers also are reportedly interested.
Orlando's WKMG-TV reported that it's down to the Jets and Jaguars, Tebow's hometown team. The Jaguars already have two quarterbacks, former No. 1 pick Blaine Gabbert and recently-signed Chad Henne, but they're also looking to sell tickets and Tebow would be an enormous draw.
Presumably, the Broncos will take the best offer, but you wonder if, out of respect for Tebow, they'd give him some sort of say in the matter. If that's the case, you'd have to think he'd want to go home.
Stay tuned, it's going to be an eventful day. What do you think, should the Jets make this move?
