In November, former Giants WR Amani Toomer -- a guest analyst on 1050 ESPN New York -- raised eyebrows by saying on the air that he'd take Tim Tebow over Mark Sanchez at quarterback. Toomer hasn't changed his opinion, and he believes Tebow will wrest the starting job from Sanchez.

"I still feel that way," Toomer said Monday during an appearance at the NFL's new pop-up store in Manhattan. "Here’s a guy, all the pundits say what he can’t do, that he can’t play. These are guys he probably looked up to growing up. All of a sudden, you get your opportunity to be on the big stage, and all these guys are talking bad about you, and he’s still –- no matter what happens in the fourth quarter -- he makes plays and win games. There’s something to be said about that.

"I think the Jets realized that when it happened to them in Denver. I think they fully believe in him. I don’t see Sanchez being the starter the entire season."

Obviously, Toomer doesn't think much of Sanchez. He said, "He's not that great a quarterback. I don't think it's a stretch to say that."

Toomer admitted that Tebow's accuracy problem could wear on the receivers.

"I’d be very upset," he said. "But being an upset receiver is not an uncommon event in the NFL ... If I was in that situation and there was a quarterback that was struggling throwing the ball, you can do one of two things: You can be really upset or go and try to work as much as you can with him."
