PICK: Sixth round (203 overall)
PLAYER: Robert T. Griffin
WEIGHT: 340 pounds
What it means: The Jets chose Baylor players on back-to-back picks, taking Griffin after RB Terrance Ganaway. In Waco, Griffin is known as the other Robert Griffin -- or by his humorous nickname, RG II. He's a massive player who plays with a nasty disposition. Playing right guard last season, he recorded 72 knockdown blocks. He played right tackle as a junior, but his future is at guard. He struggles in spaces and doesn't have the athleticism to play tackle. He began his career at Navarro Junior College in Texas.
How he fits the offensive scheme: New coordinator Tony Sparano, a former OL coach, has to be a happy guy. Griffin fits the Ground-and-Pound mentality, the renewed commitment to running the ball.
Projected impact: Griffin isn't going to see the field as a rookie, but he figures into the long-term plans. Starting guard Brandon Moore and Matt Slauson are entering the final year of their contracts.
