Notes from minicamp, Day 1

June, 12, 2012

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. -- The Jets moved Tuesday's minicamp into the field house because of a threat of rain.

Several high-profile Jets will miss part of camp with injuries. WR Santonio Holmes, who, it turns out, did injure his hammy last week before he pulled himself out of practice, will miss today. (Last week when asked, he denied he was hurt during the OTA.) LB Bryan Thomas and OL Matt Slauson, both coming off surgery from last season’s injuries, are limited.

First-round pick Stephen Hill is another wide receiver with a hamstring issue, in addition to RBs Terrence Ganaway and Bilal Powell. All three will miss practice. TE Brian Linthicum (quad), WR Jordan White and LB Matt Berning are out as well.

Also limited are TE Jeff Cumberland, WR Jeremy Kerley, Brandon Moore, Patrick Turner and WR Royce Pollard. This means that quarterback Mark Sanchez could end up handing the ball off a lot.
