Morning wake-up call: Day 8

CORTLAND, N.Y. -- Thursday should be a fun practice.

The Jets will be in full pads and, for the first time in camp, they will conduct live goal-line and short-yardage drills. In other words, the pads will be popping and there will be actual hitting. It's the closest thing to real football you will see in an NFL training camp.

Players in the spotlight will be QBs Mark Sanchez and Tim Tebow (both are scheduled to address the media), WR Santonio Holmes (he sat out the end of Wednesday's practice with an undisclosed injury) and the entire injury-riddled receiving corps. We'll also update the latest brushfire, the Antonio Cromartie/Chaz Schilens matter.

The Schedule

8 a.m. to 11 a.m. -- Practice
11 a.m. -- Media availability
12:15 p.m. -- Rex Ryan news conference
