The Jets will know the full extent of Calvin Pace's undisclosed foot injury by Monday, according to a person familiar with the situation. Pace, who didn't return to Friday night's game after hurting his right foot in the third quarter, will have an MRI exam.
Rex Ryan didn't provide any details, except to say he expects Pace to miss "a few weeks." After the game, Pace was in the locker room, his right foot heavily wrapped and encased in a walking boot. Based on the preliminary prognosis, Pace figures to miss the season opener, Sept. 13 against the Baltimore Ravens.
That means the Jets won't have their best edge rusher. They also might not have their best cover corner, depending on the Darrelle Revis holdout.
If the Pace injury is deemed serious, Ryan could reach into his past to sign former Patriots and Ravens OLB Adalius Thomas.
