FLORHAM PARK, N.J. -- Starting RG Brandon Moore won't practice this week after undergoing what the team described as a "minor procedure." Moore is expected to be ready for the season opener, according to a team spokesman.

The Jets didn't reveal the exact nature of the procedure, noting that league rules don't require an injury report until Week 1. It was a scheduled procedure, according to the team. Moore is resting, the spokesman said.

Moore, 32, the Jets' longest-tenured player on offense, has started 121 consecutive games. Rex Ryan has often referred to him as the "best right guard in the league." Before last season, Moore underwent double-hip surgery, causing him to miss some time in training camp.

Moore played only the first half Sunday night against the Panthers. He was replaced by Vladimir Ducasse at the start of the second half.

RB Joe McKnight also wasn't at practice, but he was excused for a personal reason.
