FLORHAM PARK, N.J. -- Mark Sanchez, speaking to the media for the first time since last week, laughed off owner Woody Johnson's comments last week about Tim Tebow.

In case you missed it, Johnson, speaking on CNBC from the Republican National Convention, said, "I think you can never have too much Tebow."

So, on Wednesday, Sanchez was asked about it.

"He's selling seats," the Jets' QB said sarcastically. "Tim obviously helps us, he really does. He can run, he can throw, he can do it all. So, hopefully, we'll give teams their fair share of Tebow and see what they do."

Sanchez was smiling when he made the "selling seats" reference, but that's a touchy subject for the Jets. They've been accused of making the Tebow trade to sell tickets. Joe Namath, for one, called it a "publicity stunt."

Sanchez said he didn't read anything in Johnson's remark.

"No, he's excited about him," he said.
