Mark Sanchez' numbers from last season: 12 and 20. Rex Ryan wants them to read 20 and 12 in 2010.
He was referring to touchdown passes and interceptions, of course.
"I just want to win. I don't care what the numbers are ... but if you're just looking at numbers, he'll probably turn those interceptions and touchdowns around," Ryan said. "I think that would be great if we can do that."
If Sanchez throws 20 touchdowns, only 12 picks, the Jets will be in the Super Bowl hunt.
Other notes:
• The Jets' only injury concern for the game is S Brodney Pool (sprained ankle), who remained on the sideline for practice. Ryan said it was a "pretty good" sprain. From all indications, Pool will miss the game. Eric Smith will start at free safety.
• OLB Calvin Pace (foot surgery) is back with the team and rehabbing. Pace is ahead of schedule, according to Ryan, who wasn't ready to rule him out for Week 2.
• Darrelle Revis' return is having a trickle-down effect on rookie CB Kyle Wilson. Now that Wilson is back in his nickel-back role, reducing his defensive burden, it will open the door for him to start returning punts again. You could see him and/or Jim Leonhard against the Ravens.
&bull: Tony Richardson on what he did during his one day of free agency: "I actually called down to Miami and talked to D Wade and LeBron to see if they need some help down there."
