MIAMI -- The player promoted from the practice squad to replace veteran LB Bryan Thomas -- rookie CB Donnie Fletcher -- was declared inactive for Sunday's game against the Dolphins.

The Jets wanted to bring up Fletcher because of uncertainty regarding No. 4 CB Ellis Lankster (back), but Lanskter is dressed for the game. Thomas, whose $925,000 base salary is guaranteed, is expected to re-sign in the coming days.

The other inactives: QB Greg McElroy, FB John Conner, DT Damon Harrison, G Caleb Schlauderaff, OT Dennis Landolt, and TE Dustin Keller.

Analysis: The Jets will dress five corners to combat the Dolphins' hurry-up offense, including Darrelle Revis, who returns after missing one week with a concussion. ... Garrett McIntyre will start for Thomas. ... TE Jeff Cumberland will start for Keller. ... Without Conner, the Jets have no fullbacks dressed for the game, so look for TE Konrad Reuland to line up in the backfield in two-back sets.
