FLORHAM PARK, N.J. -- The Jets waived DT Marcus Dixon for the second time in three weeks. His agent, Howard Shatsky, tweeted the news late Monday morning.

Dixon's departure could pave the way for the return of LB Bryan Thomas, who was released Saturday as the Jets tweaked the roster for Sunday's game against the Dolphins.

The Jets released Dixon on the final roster cutdown at the end of the preseason, but re-signed him a couple of days later because of a defensive-line injury.
