EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Rex Ryan and Brandon Jacobs had a much different conversation this time around.
"Shook hands and hugged like brothers and he said to me, 'I'm in a different weight class now, I lost a little bit,'" Jacobs said of their pregame encounter. "I said 'I know man, you look good.' He does look good. I wish him and his team a lot of luck."

Jacobs, along with wide receiver Mario Manningham, made their return to MetLife Stadium after leaving the Giants and signing deals with the 49ers in the offseason. Jacobs was inactive for the game while Manningham totaled 47 yards receiving on three catches and also had a 28-yard run.
"It's great. Just coming back, good atmosphere," Jacbos said. "All we had was winning on our mind and we played a good team, the Jets are a good football team and coached well. We wanted it more."
After the Giants beat the Jets on Christmas Eve last year, Jacobs and Ryan exchanged words on the field after the game, with Jacobs saying the Jets coach needed to shut up. He also took a shot at his weight. The running back would later say that he would've played for Ryan and the two now seem to be on much better terms.
Jacobs said he was surprised to see how the score played out on Sunday and added that it wouldn't have made a difference if his first game back had been against the Jets or his former team.
"Just coming back, it feels really good to come back and see the stadium, see New York and New Jersey," Jacobs said. "That really means a lot to me. It really brought back some memories by coming in here. Coming in on the visitors side is just totally different than anything I've felt."
Jacobs and Manningham were both drafted by the Giants and helped the team win the Super Bowl last season, but ultimately left the Giants as their roles diminished with the team. While Jacobs has yet to play this season, Manningham has 15 catches for 160 yards and two rushes for 57 yards.
"Glad we got the W," Manningham said. "Glad they ain't do nothing on offense over there."
