EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Amid speculation that he will have an increased role Monday night against the Texans, Jets backup QB Tim Tebow expanded his pregame warmup at MetLife Stadium.

Tebow spent about 15 minutes throwing to QBs coach Matt Cavanaugh. After about 10 or so passes, Cavanaugh moved to a different spot on the field, catching Tebow's passes from a stationary position.

Tebow seemed concerned with his footwork, practicing three-step drops and quick throws to the flat. He seemed to be in a good mood, smiling occasionally. Afterward, he and Cavanaugh spent a few minutes chatting in the middle of the field.

Maybe it's much ado about nothing. But from all indications, Tebow will be involved in the game plan more than his usual handful of snaps per game.
