FLORHAM PARK, N.J. -- Jets tight end Dustin Keller believes he'll be able to play Sunday against the Colts after missing the past four games. Keller has battled a nagging hamstring all season and has just one catch for seven yards.

"It's been way too long, had too many setbacks. Was smart today, got some good reps in and came out of it healthy," Keller said. "I think I'll be good to go. I'm pretty positive about it."

Keller, one of the top options in the offense, battled to make sure he played in the opener against Buffalo and ended up catching one ball for seven yards. That's the last game he's played as the past four weeks have come and gone without Keller able to suit up.

The tight end said he might have set himself back by rushing to get into the first game, as he was sore afterward, but he isn't 100 percent sure. He also experienced a setback during the week of practice leading up to the Miami game in the third week of the season.

The Jets sorely miss Keller in the offense as he's one of quarterback Mark Sanchez's top targets and works the middle of the field well. Keller practiced on a limited basis on Wednesday and is looking forward to finally getting back into a game.

"It's miserable when things aren't going well and you know you can be one of those factors out there that can help make a difference," Keller said. "I don't know if I was out there what the big difference would be, but just to see plays being running that you're normally in there for, it's tough to watch. It feels good to be back in the huddle and working with the guys."

MANGOLD OUT: Center Nick Mangold tried to practice Wednesday, but was not able to with a right ankle injury that he suffered Monday. He plans to try to get back out there Thursday.

"Every day you get a little bit better, which is the goal," Mangold said.

MUIR JOINS TEAM: New Jets defensive tackle Daniel Muir had his first practice Wednesday, and could potentially play against his former team Sunday.

The 29-year-old played from the Colts from 2008-11 and started 26 of the 34 games he played with the team, before being waived. The Colts cut him after he was doing community service for the team, but he said the people who made that decision are no longer with the organization.

Muir, who is 6-2 and 322 lbs., couldn't stick with Green Bay during the summer and had workouts with Houston, Detroit, Denver and Miami before the Jets signed him.

"It was tough when Green Bay let me go but I was waiting for another opportunity and not stressing. Just working out and staying ready," Muir said. "The call came and I'm ready to go and who better to do it against than Indianapolis."
