As expected, S Brodney Pool (sprained ankle) is inactive for the game. Really, this was a done deal a few days ago. Pool practiced on a limited basis, but he hasn't had a full practice since suffering the injury in the third pre-season game. Eric Smith will start at free safety.

Also, rookie LG Vlad Ducasse was among the inactives. This was a mild surprise, although Rex Ryan mentioned the other day that Rob Turner would be backing up Matt Slauson at left guard. Turner is valuable because he can back up at center and guard. Ducasse simply hasn't earned the coaches' trust.

UPDATE: The Jets' other inactives are QB Kellen Clemens, RB Joe McKnight, OT Patrick Brown, TE Jeff Cumberland, DT Marcus Dixon and LB Calvin Pace.

The Ravens' inactives: WR Donte Stallworth, CB Lardarius Webb, CB Bryan McCann, LB Jason Phillips, DT Arthur Jones, DT Terrence Cody, OT Jared Gaither and DE Paul Kruger.
