FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Jets running back Joe McKnight is active for Sunday's game against the Patriots. McKnight was questionable after suffering a high ankle sprain in last week's win against the Colts. He will be the backup to starter Shonn Greene, as fellow back Bilal Powell (shoulder) is inactive.

Having McKnight is also important for the Jets' special teams, as he is averaging 29.7 yards per return on kickoffs and has returned one for a touchdown. McKnight has rushed 10 times for 90 yards this year.

The Jets will not have the services of defensive tackles Sione Po'uha (low back) and Kenrick Ellis (knee), safety Eric Smith (knee), receiver Clyde Gates (shoulder), guard Caleb Schlauderaff and quarterback Greg McElroy. The Jets could have used Po'uha in the middle against a stout New England run game.
