FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Jets running back Shonn Greene left Sunday's game with a head injury and went to the locker room for evaluation, but returned to finish out the 29-26 overtime loss to the Patriots. Green went to the locker room as the fourth quarter drew to a close, but was back on the field in overtime.

"I'm good," Greene said repeatedly after the defeat.

Greene appeared to be shaken up on a short pass over the middle while the Jets trailed 23-13 in the fourth quarter. He collided with New England linebacker Brandon Spikes on a 3-yard gain and lay on the field briefly before eventually walking off. He did not play any more in regulation, but caught one pass for 3 yards in overtime. Backup Joe McKnight primarily played in overtime, touching the ball three times.

Greene rushed for 54 yards on 16 carries and had a one-yard touchdown in the first quarter to give the Jets a 7-0 lead, and he was used as the team's check-down option throughout the game. He caught six passes for 34 yards on nine targets after entering the game with three catches this season. The back has rushed for 432 yards and five touchdowns, averaging 3.5 yards per carry.

Coach Rex Ryan did not have an update on Greene's health after the game, and Greene only answered questions with, "I'm good."

"I think Shonn was playing at the end of the game, hopefully he's OK," Ryan said.

Ryan was particularly animated after Greene was hit by Spikes, but didn't want to comment on it after the game.

"One thing I'll say -- it's all about the players," Ryan said.
