Here's the drive that had the biggest effect on Sunday's 29-26 overtime loss to the Patriots:
THE DRIVE: Six plays, 54 yards, elapsed time 1:37. It culminated in a 43-yard field goal from New England's Stephen Gostkowski.
THE OUTCOME: The Patriots tied the game at 26-26 as regulation expired and would go on to win the game, 29-26, in overtime.
IMPACT: The Jets had a 26-23 lead and 92 seconds to hold Tom Brady from tying the game up or potentially going ahead to walk out of Gillette Stadium with the upset win. They had done a great job against him up to that point and needed to do it one more time.
Unfortunately for Gang Green, Brady played like an MVP. He completed 4-of-5 passes for 54 yards to move the team into field-goal range. It started with two throws for 27 yards to tight end Rob Gronkowski, who was tightly covered but still managed to get his yardage.
The killer came when New England had the ball on its own 48 with 45 seconds left. Brady found his running back, Danny Woodhead, for a 20-yard gain that put the Patriots in prime position. Woodhead caught the ball in open space and didn't have to do much to get his yards.
A strong defensive play by Antonio Cromartie on a deep ball to Brandon Lloyd kept the Patriots from winning the game in regulation, but another seven-yard pass to Woodhead put the Patriots at the Jets' 25-yard line and the rest is history. The Patriots tied the game and eventually won.

Some perspective required: #Jets are learning new offensive system, WR corps depleted, defense always ahead of offense this early.

Early thought on #Jets QB comp: Ugh. Sanchez 6-for-11, 3 INTs, 1 sack. (1 INT may have been a sack.) Geno Smith 3-for-10, 1 INT, 1 sack
