Tweaking the bottom of the roster, the Jets re-signed veteran WR Jason Hill and waived rookie S Antonio Allen, who will be added to the practice squad if he clears waivers.

Hill, originally signed to replaced the injured Santonio Holmes, was released Oct. 27 after three games with the team. He caught two passes for 15 yards, including a touchdown. He gives the Jets a fifth wide receiver.

Allen, a seventh-round pick, spent the last three games on the active roster after being promoted from the practice squad. He had a sack and a fumble recovery on special teams. Releasing Allen is an indication that veteran S Eric Smith is ready to return from his knee injury.

The roster stands at 52.
