The Jets waived receiver Mardy Gilyard on Monday, the team announced.
New York Jets
Gilyard, a fourth-round pick in 2010, signed with the Jets on Nov. 28. He played in two games with the Jets, catching two balls for 15 yards, and was inactive on Sunday against the Chargers. Gilyard appears to have been caught in a numbers game at receiver, as he's the low man on the totem pole in the group.
The receiver has played 19 games in his career, which also includes time with Philadelphia and St. Louis, and has eight catches for 78 yards. This ends his second tenure with the Jets as lasted six days with the Jets last season.
