Starting NT Sione Pouha, who has battled a back problem since the early days of training camp, will have an MRI exam next week to determine if he needs off-season surgery.

Pouha missed the preseason and four regular-season games because of the injury. He said Thursday the discomfort has subsided in recent weeks, so he's hopeful he can avoid surgery, but he will undergo tests to determine the extent of any damage.
He has been limited because of the back, playing about 20 snaps per game. He's finishing the first year of a three-year contract, which includes $9 million in guarantees.
