If recent history means anything, Brett Favre will play well against the New York Jets Monday night at the New Meadowlands Stadium.

Favre has a spectacular record after the bye, which makes a lot of sense. When you're a 40-something quarterback (he turns 41 on Sunday) and the old bones are creaking, it helps when you pitch on 14 or 15 days rest. That will the case, as the Minnesota Vikings are coming off their bye week.

Here's a breakdown of Favre's recent, post-bye history, including the opponent and going back to 2002:

2009 -- Detroit -- 20/29, 344 yards, 1 TD, 0 INT -- Win
2008 -- Cinncinnati -- 25/33, 189 yards, 1 TD, 2 INT -- Win
2007 -- Denver -- 21/27, 332 yards, 2 TD, 0 INT -- Win
2006 -- Miami -- 19/35, 206 yards, 2 TD, 0 INT -- Win
2005 -- Minnesota -- 28/36, 315 yards, 2 TD, 0 INT -- Loss
2004 -- Minnesota -- 20/29, 236 yards, 4 TD, 0 INT -- Win
2003 -- Minnesota -- 18/28, 194 yards, 3 TD, 1 INT -- Win
2002 -- Miami -- 16/25, 187 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT -- Win

Totals:

Completions -- 167
Attempts -- 242
Comp. Pct -- 69.0
Yards -- 2,003
TDs -- 16
INTs -- 4
Passer rating -- 109.2
Record -- 7-1
