The NFL announced the offseason training and practice schedules for every team. The Jets' itinerary:
Start of the offseason program: April 15
Organized Team Activity (OTA) practices: May 20, 22, 23, 29, 30, 31; June 3, 4, 5, 6
Mandatory minicamp: June 11-13
Note: By rule, the media are allowed to attend at least three OTA practices and the minicamp.
The offseason is divided into three phases, per the collective bargaining agreement. There are specific guidelines with regard to the type of drills that are allowed. Here are the basics:
Phase I (two weeks): Strength and conditioning.
Phase II (three weeks): Individual drills on the field.
Phase III (four weeks): No live contact, but teams can run 7-on-7, 9-on-7 and 11-on-11 drills.
