The NFL weather policy will be in effect tonight, as lightning in the area delayed the start of the game by nearly an hour. With several more storms with the potential to roll through the East Rutherford area, the Jets will refer to the policy and an NFL official on site.
The lead official has the ability to delay and resume play, but only commissioner Roger Goodell has the authority to cancel, postpone, terminate or forfeit a game.
The game began at 9:15 p.m., but lightning is forecast in the 11 p.m. hour and again at approximately 1 a.m.
