CORTLAND, N.Y. -- The Jets have a required day off Tuesday, per rules of the collective bargaining agreement.
They have completed the first phase of training camp, four consecutive days of practice -- two in shells, two in pads. Tuesday will be an important day for rookie CB Dee Milliner, who didn't arrive on campus until late Monday afternoon after signing a four-year, $12.66 million contract.
Milliner, who missed the off-season practices as he recovered from shoulder surgery, is way behind. He'll spend the off day in his playbook, meeting with coaches. He also has to take the required conditioning test. Assuming he passes, the No. 1 pick will practice Wednesday, albeit on a limited basis.
The Jets are into the heavy-grind portion of camp. This is what their schedule looks like for the remainder of the week:
Wednesday -- Practice in pads, 10 a.m.
Thursday -- Practice in pads, 10 a.m.
Friday -- Practice in pads, 10 a.m.
Saturday -- Green and White scrimmage, 6 p.m.
