I had an opportunity to speak today with Dr. Daniel Kharrazi, an orthopedic surgeon at Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in L.A.

He said a bruised shoulder joint usually resolves within seven to 14 days. The treatment would be ice and anti-inflammatories. He said a possible injury in that area that would be more serious would be damage to the labrum, or lining of the socket joint, or an injury to the rotator cuff.

“It usually heals in seven to 14 days if there’s nothing more serious,” Kharrazi said.
