Injury report: A day of rest

If Ed Reed wanted to get a sense of what it will be like to be a Jet, he needs look no further than at what tight end Kellen Winslow's schedule was for Thursday.

Winslow didn’t practice. Although he is listed with a knee injury, the truth is that Jets coach Rex Ryan likes to give his veterans a day of rest during the week so that they are fresh by the time Sunday comes.

It’s happened ever since the days of LaDainian Tomlinson, and it’s likely that Reed will find he gets the advantages of age and experience in the Ryan system as well.
