Jets sign Jace Amaro, 2nd-round pick

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. -- The New York Jets begin their rookie camp Friday with eight of 12 draft choices under contract. The latest to sign was second-round choice Jace Amaro, a tight end from Texas Tech.

Amaro signed the standard four-year contract for $4.3 million, including a $1.4 million signing bonus. He was the most prolific pass-catching tight end in college football, finishing last season with 106 receptions, 1,352 yards and seven touchdowns -- an FBS record for most receiving yards by a tight end in a single season.

The only unsigned picks are first-round safety Calvin Pryor, third-round cornerback Dexter McDougle, fourth-round wide receiver Jalen Saunders and sixth-round cornerback Brandon Dixon.
