CORTLAND, N.Y. -- There is no practice Sunday for the New York Jets, a mandatory day off after the Green & White scrimmage on Saturday night.
The first segment of training camp is over. The focus shifts to the preseason schedule, and there isn't much time to get ready. The Jets open Thursday night against the Indianapolis Colts at MetLife Stadium. They will practice Monday and Tuesday in Cortland before heading back to New Jersey for the game.
Typically, teams don't have an actual game plan for the first preseason game. They're still in evaluation mode, trying to formulate opinions about the bottom of the roster. The Jets open the season five weeks from Sunday. Can you believe it?
